FAQ

Product FAQ

Where are your flowers from?

We grow a select variety of flowers right here on our property in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where we create our vessels, bouquets, and boxed floral gifts. In 2022, we focused on cultivating dwarf strawflowers, and in 2023, we’ve expanded to include other beautiful crops like statice, cress, and winged everlasting.

In addition to our own flowers, around 80% of our blooms are sourced from local farms within our region and the Pacific Northwest. We’re proud to work with farms like Star Sight Farm and Local Life Flowers as well as other small, women-owned farms in our extended network.

By purchasing from us, you’re supporting a larger collective of women-owned small businesses both locally and regionally.

How are your flowers preserved?

Both the flowers we grow ourselves and those sourced from our partner farms are naturally dried, with no chemical preservatives used. After harvest, they’re carefully hung upside down in a cool, dry space with excellent airflow to ensure they dry naturally.

When we first started in early 2022, I sourced flowers from various places, some of which were chemically preserved. Unfortunately, we noticed that these flowers caused an off-gassing effect, which would fog up the surface of our vessels. After learning more about the different preservation methods, we made the intentional choice to exclusively use naturally dried flowers in all our products. We’re committed to providing you with clean, chemical-free blooms that retain their beauty and integrity.

Tell me more about your vessels.

Our vessels are made from borosilicate glass — a premium, high-quality glass known for its exceptional durability and clarity. Unlike regular glass, borosilicate contains boron trioxide, which gives it a remarkably low thermal expansion rate. This means it can withstand extreme temperature changes without cracking, making it both reliable and long-lasting.

With its smooth hand feel, crystal-clear appearance, and non-toxic composition, borosilicate glass is a favorite among top chefs, laboratories, and wineries alike. It’s as beautiful as it is resilient — the perfect balance of form and function.

Can you share where the crystals in your vessels are sourced from?

Our natural crystals are thoughtfully sourced through a small, family-owned business that partners with artisan mines, primarily in South America and select regions around the world. They’re deeply committed to sustainability — prioritizing practices like land restoration after mining and ensuring fair wages for their workers.

I truly cherish our relationship with this team. One of the highlights of each season is visiting their beautiful showroom in Sebastopol — a place filled with care, connection, and radiant treasures.

Where do you create your boxed floral keepsake cards?

Our boxed floral gift cards are a true labor of love, crafted from start to finish with intention and artistry. We begin with sustainably sourced paper stock from the renowned French Paper Mill in Michigan, known for their eco-friendly practices and high-quality materials. Each card is then printed and die-cut by our trusted local printer in Santa Cruz.

From there, the magic happens in our studio — where our small team of artisan floral designers hand-adorns each card with carefully selected natural dried flowers. Every piece is thoughtfully arranged, boxed, and wrapped with care, creating a one-of-a-kind gift that carries the beauty of nature and the warmth of human hands.

Tell me more about your botanical boards.

Each of our botanical charcuterie boards is lovingly handcrafted in the Santa Cruz Mountains, in collaboration with a local woodcraft studio that shares our passion for artistry and nature. We carefully embed pressed flowers — many of which are grown right in our own garden — into each board, preserving their natural beauty in a timeless, functional piece.

Every board is a unique expression of the season, the land, and the hands that made it — blending craftsmanship and nature into something truly special for your table.

How do you package your vessels to ensure they arrive safely and beautifully?

AnswerWe take great care to ensure each vessel arrives safely and sustainably. We thoughtfully reuse and upcycle packaging materials whenever possible.

Mini vessels are shipped in sets of six, nestled inside recyclable Indestructo boxes.
Medium vessels are secured in upcycled foam packs with individual cells to keep them cushioned and protected.
Large vessels are carefully wrapped with upcycled foam blocks and surrounded with compostable corn starch material, which naturally dissolve over time with the help of water.

Each package is a blend of care, intention, and our ongoing commitment to the planet.

How do you keep the flowers intact in the vessels?

Each vessel is thoughtfully designed with both beauty and durability in mind. While we intentionally leave a bit of negative space in our compositions to honor the organic nature of each bloom, the flowers are securely set in place. Every vessel goes through our signature "shake test" to ensure they hold up beautifully during handling and shipping.

How do you keep the flowers intact in your floral cards?

This is one of the questions we’re asked most often—and we love it! Our boxed floral keepsake notes are designed with intention and care. We don’t use glue or adhesive materials, as we invite recipients to reuse their flowers in a bud vase of their choosing, inviting a moment of presence and beauty.

To keep the flowers safe in transit, we gently nestle them in soft tissue inside each box, providing a cushion that protects and preserves their delicate form.
