— Why I make these

"I kept noticing the same thing. People would show me a photo — usually on their phone, tilted sideways so I could see it better — and something would shift in their face."

A softness. Sometimes it's their child caught in a moment of pure absorption. Sometimes it's a last photo with someone they've since lost. Sometimes it's just an afternoon that felt exactly right, and they knew it while it was happening.

And then they'd swipe away. Back into the scroll.

I press flowers twice a week in my studio. I've spent years learning which blooms hold their color under glass — which petals bring softness to a face, which stems add movement to a composition, which small things you'd barely notice become exactly right when they're placed just so.

When I started layering real pressed flowers around portrait photographs, something clicked. Not as decoration. The flowers became part of the story the image was already trying to tell. A child surrounded by the pansies that grew in their grandmother's garden. A wedding day pressed in the blooms that were actually there.

Every photo already has a feeling. The flowers give it somewhere to live.

— What a floral portrait actually is

Real flowers. Real photographs. Nothing digital.

Your photo is printed on archival Fuji Film Deep Matte Paper — a warm, fine-art surface that looks like it was always meant to live with flowers. Then real botanicals from our studio press are arranged by hand around your image: petals, stems, small blooms, textured leaves. Everything placed with intention. Sealed under glass in your chosen frame.

It's not a filter. Not a composite. Not AI-generated. Every flower in your portrait was a living thing. Every placement is a decision. And every portrait is made once, for you.

"The texture of the petals is genuine. The color is the flower itself — not a print of a flower, not a facsimile. A real petal, pressed and preserved."

You have a photo that deserves more than a screen.

That photo sitting in your camera roll

The one you've swiped past a hundred times. A face you love, caught perfectly. It deserves more than a screen — and more than a generic print.

A gift with genuine weight

Not a gift card. Not flowers that'll be dead in a week. Something that holds the moment you're trying to mark — and gets more beautiful with time.

A milestone worth keeping

New babies. Weddings. Anniversaries. A goodbye you didn't want to say. The occasions that ask for something more thoughtful than a card.

For flower lovers and makers

If you're the person who stops the car for a good bloom — you'll appreciate knowing exactly what went into yours and where every petal came from.

Three styles. Each one beautiful.

Your frame choice shapes the feeling of the piece. All options include UV-protective glass to protect the pressed botanicals from fading.

3 The Process

1. Initial Steps

Once your photo and order details arrive at the studio, I’ll send a personal note to your inbox and check in with you on your personalized preferences.

2. Watch the Your Portrait Bloom

You won’t be left wondering where your piece is in the process. I’ll keep you updated as we move through the stages of botanical selection and composition. Think of it as a behind-the-scenes look at your floral portrait coming to life.

3. The Creative Check-In: Your Proofs

This is our moment to make sure the story we’re telling feels right. This is where we sit at the "virtual studio table" together. I’ll send over digital proofs of your floral portrait for you to review.

You’ll have the opportunity for up to two rounds of revisions to the design. We’ll discuss any adjustments before I officially seal your pressed floral frame and ship it to you.

4 Display Your Portrait

Once your portrait is complete and hand-packaged with care, it will be ready for its new home. When it arrives, the goal is to find the perfect spot where your memory can live safely for years to come.

Because these are real, organic botanicals, they thrive best in a "slow and steady" environment.

To keep those colors from quickly fading and the glass crystal-clear, you’ll want to find a space:

  • Away from Direct Sunlight: Think of your portrait like a fine wine—it loves a shady gallery wall or a cozy shelf rather than a bright windowsill.
  • Cool & Dry: Keep it away from high-moisture spots or direct heat sources (like a fireplace mantle) to protect the integrity of the pressed flowers.
