Vivid Press Premium Blotting Paper for Floral Preservation

When it comes to flower pressing, the goal is to gently and efficiently remove moisture from the bloom. 

I’ve experimented with various blotting papers over the years as a floral preservationist and found this paper from a specialized supplier in Japan. 

Yes, I’ve also experimented with various techniques, including the microwave press, but I really wanted a way to preserve flowers without having to use heat.  

The Vivid Press Blotting Paper is a high-density, ultra-absorbent technical paper made for one job: pulling moisture out of a pressed bloom before it has the chance to brown, wilt, or fade. 

Left in a normal press, oranges become muted, whites turn yellow, and reds can turn to a muddy brown. This paper doesn't let that happen; it pulls moisture out fast and holds onto it so that your flowers are breathtakingly vibrant when you pull them out of the press 3-5 weeks later.

It's dense enough to pull moisture from juicy blooms like dahlias and sunflowers but gentle enough that thinner petals don't need an extra layer of cardboard or chipboard underneath. 

Since using this paper, I’ve stopped using chipboard completely, which allows me to add more flowers to my press, not less.

Each pack comes with 5 B5 sheets, about 7.2" x 10.1".

With a little care and a gentle recharge in the sun, they're built to hold up for dozens of pressings. Once you're ready to retire them from pressing, you can add these sheets to the back of your artwork as a desiccant when you seal your frame.
