How does this process work?
Once you have your photo selected, upload your image and select your custom frame options including the shape, size, backing, and color of choice. Once we have reviewed your image, you’ll receive a preview of the design for pre-approval prior to completing your frame for you. Updates are provided throughout the process to keep you informed along the way. We provide up to two (2) proof approvals for revision. Once your final design is approved, we will complete and seal your frame for you.
What if I have specific flowers I’d like to use?
If you have preferred flowers that have special meaning to you, we'd love to hear about them! Please include your list in the preferred flowers section. Special flowers are subject to the season and availability. You will hear from us on possible substitutions for your project if we do not have the specific flower(s) requested.
What if I have an heirloom photo and I don't have a digital copy?
We do not accept original heirloom photos by mail. We recommend having your heirloom photo digitally scanned and creating a file to upload. When we receive your photo, we print it on professional Fujicolor Crystal Archive Deep Matte Velvet paper that has a non-reflective surface, giving your portrait a beautiful, soft finish.
Will I get to see the final design before it’s sent?
Yes, you will receive a preview of the final design before it is shipped. You can request changes to ensure that it’s exactly what you envision.
What if I have a specific date in mind? How long is your typical lead time?
Please plan for a lead time of 6-8 weeks prior to your event.

Upload your photo.
When you order, you'll upload your chosen photo directly to us. We then print it on Fuji Film Deep Matte archival paper, a warm, fine-art surface that sits beautifully with pressed botanicals.
Once your photo is printed, Charina sends a personal note to confirm your preferences: any flowers you love, colors you would like include, and the story you want the piece to hold.
- What makes a great photo? Natural, diffused light and a clear subject, with some breathing room around the edges for flowers frame your image. A photo that gives you all the feels and more.

We compose. You approve.
Once we've confirmed all of the initial details for your frame, we'll select flowers from our floral library with your portrait in mind.
We will hand-select blooms for color, texture, and story based on your preferences. An initial design will be created and you'll receive updates along the way.
When the design is ready, we send you digital proofs to review.
- Up to two rounds of revisions are included. We'll discuss any adjustments together — before anything is sealed.
It arrives, ready to hang.
Once you've approved your final proof, your portrait will be fitted to your frame and hand packaged with care. Your portrait will ship with ready-to-hang hardware for easy display once it arrives to your door.
Most portraits are completed and shipped within 6-8 weeks of your order date.
- Because floral portraits are created with real, pressed flowers, they thrive best away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity. Think: a gallery wall or on a cozy shelf, in a room with low humidity. Do not display over a fireplace or a place that is susceptible to steam or moisture.
What to expect
Color Change
Orchid & Pine preserves flowers naturally without toxic chemicals or artificial coloring. As a result, some color changing and fading may occur due to oxidation as pressed flowers age overtime.
Blooms Best Pressed
At Orchid & Pine, flowers are our love language. Our favorite flowers to grow and press are Borage, Cosmos, Hellebore, Dianthus, Ammi Majus, Larkspur, Xeranthemum, Roses, Peonies, Dahlias, Hydrangeas, Lilac and many more. What we don’t grow in our garden we source from local farms.
