Don't Wait Until It's Too Late: Speaking From the Heart

There are moments in life when the absence of a loved one feels like a silence that never quite fades. For me, that silence is my grandmother—my guiding light, my safe haven, my source of unconditional love.

She passed away five years ago, and yet, there are still so many things I wish I had told her. So many words left unsaid, not because I didn’t feel them, but because I thought I had more time.

The truth is, we always think we have more time.

We let hesitation, fear, or ego hold us back from speaking the words that matter most—words of love, gratitude, forgiveness, and kindness. We assume that those we love just know how we feel.

But what if they don’t? And what if, one day, we find ourselves wishing we had said it all when we had the chance?

Finding the Courage to Speak From the Heart

Speaking from the heart isn’t always easy. It requires vulnerability, honesty, and a willingness to let go of pride or fear of rejection. But here’s the thing: Love isn’t meant to be kept locked away. It’s meant to be spoken, shared, and given freely.

If you struggle to express yourself, start small.

Write a note.
Send a message.
Give a compliment.
Practice speaking love into existence.

The more you do, the easier it becomes to say, I appreciate you. I’m proud of you. I love you.

A Letter I Wish I Had Sent

If I could send one more letter to my grandmother, it would say this:

Dear Grandma,

There’s so much I wish I could tell you. I miss you in ways I can’t put into words. You were my rock—the one I turned to for comfort, for wisdom, for love that never wavered.

You taught me the kind of love that isn’t about grand gestures, but about quiet presence.

I miss the way you listened without judgment and love the way your embrace could make the whole world feel safe. I treasure the times we sat together in the garden, listening to your stories about your childhood and your life as a young woman in the Philippines.

I carry those lessons with me every day.

I wish I had told you more often how much you meant to me. I wish I had slowed down, sat with you longer, and spoken from my heart without hesitation. But even now, I hope you can hear me. I hope you know how much I love you.

With all my love,
Charina

Say It Now, Just Because

If there’s someone you love—someone who has shaped your life in ways big or small—tell them. Today. Not because it’s a special occasion. Not because it’s expected. But just because they deserve to hear it.

That’s why I created our JUST BECAUSE floral gift card—a space for all the things you want to say but have struggled to express.

It’s a simple, beautiful way to put into words what your heart already knows.

Life is too short to leave love unspoken. Say the words. Give the flowers. Write the letter. Because one day, you’ll either be grateful you did—or wish that you had.

And I hope, with all my heart, that you choose to say it now.

Charina
